An exciting joint initiative between TAFE NSW and the Tweed Valley Hospital project for the new ‘Tweed Valley Skills Centre’ has been announced by the Minister responsible for TAFE NSW, Adam Marshall, with Member for Tweed, Geoff Provest.
The initiative demonstrates the long-term benefits of the new hosptial's location immediately adjacent to the TAFE NSW Kingscliff campus. A Prototype and Simulation Suite, in addition to a Skills and Employment Hub, will see the new Tweed Valley Skills Centre provide education, training, and employment opportunities for the local community and ensure that the benefits of the new hospital extend beyond the delivery of new hospital buildings.
Lendlease our early works contractor will shortly be going to tender for the next round of work packages associated with the Tweed Valley Hospital development, including the construction of worker’s accommodation and offices, bulk earthworks, road and civil works, piling and services infrastructure. The tender will include the opportunity for local businesses to apply.
Tweed Shire and Northern NSW businesses are set to benefit from the construction of the new Tweed Valley Hospital when early works commence in the coming months, with an industry briefing being held next week to inform locally businesses of the packages and opportunities that will be available.
Health Infrastructure is a government agency responsible for delivering public health infrastructure on behalf of NSW Health. This includes the Tweed Valley Hospital Development. Health Infrastructure engages at all times in a professional and respectful manner with all our stakeholders across government, industry and the community.
The project team has provided a report that responds to submissions from community members, as well as Government departments and agencies, during the extended public exhibition of the Stage 1 Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the new hospital. The report has been lodged with the Department of Planning and Environment (DPE) and will be published on their website.
